How does spatial transcriptomics work?

Spatial transcriptomics captures RNA with location-encoded barcodes so expression can be mapped back to tissue coordinates. After fixation, permeabilization, and capture, cDNA libraries are sequenced and computationally registered to histology. Outputs are expression matrices linked to spots or cells for clustering, annotation, and domain analysis in spatial viewers and pipelines.
