t-SNE (t-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding) is a nonlinear dimensionality reduction technique designed for visualizing high-dimensional data in two or three dimensions. It excels at revealing cluster separation but may distort global distances and requires tuning. In single-cell analysis, t-SNE complements UMAP for visual assessment after upstream preprocessing.
